The idea to create Aeroptera, a customizable 3D drone, was born from the mundane need to gather data for environmental science research. We, a group of university students, faced difficulties finding affordable and compatible drones for his research.

 

Research without appropriate and affordable drones sometimes was nigh impossible. Rationing a limited budget in order to acquire expensive aerial robots for research became the most important task.

 

This experience showcased the need to develop customizable and affordable drones for environmental research. Determined to address this gap, we envisioned 3D as the manufacturing method and as a primary solution. With this idea, we aim to bring Aeroptera into reality.
